The 10.7.0 release is a major release of the Total Recall VR LinX technology which powers the new passive and active audio logging and call recording products.
The major new inclusion in the 10.7.0 release is the SIP Media Server which is capable of recording SIP sessions in active mode. Unlike the existing passive mode of recording SIP session, the SIP Media Server does not require a SPAN port or another form of an Ethernet link tap to capture audio during SIP sessions. Instead, other equipment can establish a SIP session with the recorder for the purpose of recording audio. This greatly simplifies the deployment of Total Recall VR systems for the purpose of recording SIP sessions.
In addition, we have enhanced the VoIP recording performance of the system by adding the ability to individually disable/enable each of the VoIP recording mechanisms. For example, users can fully disable all passive VoIP recording and enable specific active VoIP recording methods.
Further, as the number of system with RAID disk configuration continues to increase on quarterly basis, we simplified the disk management for such systems. It is now possible to view disk health parameters for each of the disks in the system. In addition, it is possible to quickly detach drives from the RAID, replace them with new drives and re-attach them to the RAID, all while the system is fully operational and recording.
Finally the Remote Manager Interface now supports external archiver applications which can fetch recordings from the system on regular basis and in near real-time if required for the purpose of archiving or post-processing.
In summary, the release 10.7.0 includes:
- SIP Media Server that supports active recording of SIP sessions.
- Enable flags for all VoIP recording methods.
- Hard disk management for systems with RAID disk configuration. The hard disk health parameters view is available on systems with a single disk as well.
- Remote Manager Interface extensions to support external archivers.
- The time zone data files were updated to version 2014g.
- The following defects were removed:
- The house-keeping process is no longer purging locked recordings if it is not absolutely necessary to do so to free disk and DB space.
- Archiving to USB key after re-boot of the system now operates correctly. Prior to this release, on some models, the system archived to the local hard disk instead of the attached USB key after re-boot of the system while the USB key is connected.
- Error that was causing the log to show a message saying “… missing SDP fields …” during VoIP calls was removed.
- AMBE packets with 24 bytes are now correctly stored in the TRC files.
- RAID utilities are now correctly initializing new drives on re-boot of the system.
- Remote Manager is now able to automatically re-connect to a TRVR system if the IP address of the TRVR system changes.
