Thanks to the continued work on our generation 5 technology we are able to introduce the following new features in this release:
- The RTSP media server is now capable of recording both Eurocae ED-137/4B and ED-137/4C sessions. However, the support for the (now legacy) ED-137 Part 3 sessions was removed.
The RTSP media server automatically detects the standard that is used by looking at the value of the “WG67-Version” header that is present in RTSP messages for each recording session and uses the correct mode of recording:- recording.01 – recording as per the ED-137/4B standard if this value is present.
- recording.02 - recording as per the ED-137/4C standard if this value is present.
As a result it is possible to record in a network where both the ED-137/4B and ED-137/4C standards are in use at the same time for different recording sessions. If the “WG67-Version” header is absent, or does not contain any of the above listed values, then the session will be recorded as a standard RTSP 1.0 session as per RFC 2326.
The RTSP media server has full support for both the ED-137/4B and the ED-137/4C standards with the following exceptions:- RTP over independent TCP is not supported. Only RTP over independent UDP and embedded (interleaved with RTSP) RTP is supported.
- The shutdown sequence of all PC applications was improved so there is no noticeable delay when exiting applications. Past versions of the PC applications took as much as 60 seconds to complete the shutdown sequence.
- If the display name is available in the SIP “To” and “From” headers, then it will be used as the mapped value for the “To Number” and “From Number” of the recording metadata. This eliminates the need to create extensive lists of Signaling Mapping entries to convert SIP identifiers to human readable identifiers. However, if further mapping of the “To Extension” and “From Extension” values is needed, then it can be accomplished by adding Signaling Mapping entries to the recorder configuration.
In addition to the new features, the following technologies were updated:
- SIP stack 1.3.0-91
- H2 1.4.199
- ObjectDB 2.8.2_01
- Time zone data 2020a
Finally, the following defects were removed:
- The recording explorers and players now start (if user permissions allow it) as expected when running the Total Recall VR PC applications on VM based PCs with audio hardware.
- Multiple record filtering predicates are now combined correctly.
- Backups of recorder settings that contain *.properties files can now be restored correctly.
- The x11-open-port (unencrypted X11 service) vulnerability was removed.
- The generic-tcp-timestamp (TCP timestamp) response vulnerability was removed.
